This policy explains what personal information PenMeester handles and why, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Published results

Competition results on this website can include anglers’ names, team names, SAFBAF affiliation numbers, peg numbers, catches and weights. Organisers publish this information to announce the results of their competitions.

If you want your details corrected or removed from a published result, ask the organiser of that competition, who can republish it.

Visiting the website

You do not need an account to view results. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

Your choice of light or dark theme is remembered in your own browser only. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting.

Scorer and admin accounts

For people with an account we store the username, a securely hashed password, the names of the devices signed in, login times and an activity log that includes IP addresses. This is used to keep accounts secure and to see who changed what.

The desktop program

The PenMeester program stores competition data on your own computer. Data is only sent to penmeester.co.za when you sync or publish, and the program contacts the website to check for updates.

Sharing and your rights

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties, other than our hosting provider who stores the website.

Under POPIA you may ask what information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
